The Atascosa County chapter has new officers: Travis Briseno will continue as chairman, Roger Garcia-vice-chairman, Chris Gonzales-membership chairman, Deborah Ogden-treasurer and Nicole Briseno-secretary.

We are looking forward to putting on another DOVE 101 class for Hunt Hondo on August 11. We will also be hosting our 2nd annual horseshoe and washer tournament at the Poteet Lions Club Barbecue Cook-off on September 28-29.

The Rio Grande Valley chapter just came off a very successful Hunters & Sportsman’s Expo. We are in the process of scheduling another snake avoidance training for dogs. Our chapter is growing and we are excited about hosting more events like Youth Day and Dove 101 classes in the future.

The San Antonio chapter held our 5th annual Shooting for Scholarships earlier this year and it was the best yet! Ranger Firearms of Texas hosted our EAT…SHOP…GIVE day for us for The Big Give on March 22. We are hosting our 2nd annual Youth Day on Saturday, August 18 from 9am-1pm. The Texas A&M University chapter has been in a restructuring process this summer and is looking forward to getting started recruiting new members this fall.

The Houston chapter hosted our 2nd annual Bag Limit Banquet in April. This annual event continues to grow and in size and popularity. Our first Outfitters Day was held in July in the trophy room of Federal Maintenance Services. We will be at this year’s TTHA Hunters Extravaganza to help promote the Texas BB Challenge. We are also gearing up for our 5th annual Pullin’ for Kids Sporting Clay event at Texas Premier Sporting Arms in Sealy on October 27.
