Hunt Hondo 2016 was a month-long celebration of hunting in God’s Country last September hosted by the Hondo Chamber of Commerce. The month-long festivities included a Dove Dance, a Camo Fun Run and a DOVE 101 class open to the community and LOTS of hunting throughout dove season. TDHA was a proud sponsor of Hunt Hondo and enjoyed having the opportunity to work with a vivacious group of young hunters teaching them about safety, etiquette, ethics, and other aspects of dove hunting. Lunch and the land for this year’s event were provided by the Stuebing Family.

The Lonesome Dove Fest celebrated its 24th year. This annual event put on by the Karnes City Rotary Club begins with the Black Gold Oil shoot on Thursday. Friday, they are hosts to hundreds of youth from all around the area who attend various educational mini-sessions throughout the day. This year TDHA put on 7 mini-DOVE 101 sessions to interested youth. Friday afternoon begins the weekend that is open to the public of food, vendors, a parade, Barbecue cookoff, shooting events, a stick horse rodeo, many other kids activities and a dance.
